Sciton Laser Treatments

Laser treatments provide a great way to treat the surface and texture of the skin, in addition to removing visible signs of skin damage.

We customize each laser treatment to your individual needs.

The 2 types of Laser treatments we offer are: MicroLaser peels & ProFractional Resurfacing treatments.

These treatments use a laser to ablate (evaporate) the upper layers of the skin, and to target the epidermal layer. This peel is used to treat:

• Brown Spots
• Fine Lines
• Pore size
• Superficial acne scars
• Texture
• Wrinkles

Skin will look healthier and feel smoother after treatment.

The usual depth of treatment is 10 – 40 microns. Depending on the anticipated outcome, 1 treatment or a series of treatments may be performed. Our staff will work together to develop a customized plan for you.

The down time post MicroLaser peel is generally a few days, but will vary on your skin type and treatment depth. We recommend using only a gentle cleanser and Aquaphor for the first few days post treatment. Other skin care products can be used 1 to 2 days after the treatment as tolerated.

ProFractional treatments differ from MicroLaser peels, as the profractional laser is designed to target deeper into the layers of the skin, instead of across the top of the skin. With this approach, the collagen and fibroblast in the deeper layers of skin is targeted and a resurfacing action is triggered. This treatment is used to treat:

• Deep acne scars
• Deeper Wrinkles
• Fine Lines
• Lax skin
• Pore size
• Sun Damage
• Texture

The depth of treatment varies depending on the condition being treated. Light, medium and deep depths are available, in addition to the use of COAG, which adds additional heat.

With the ProFractional treatment more down time is anticipated. We recommend using only a gentle cleanser and Aquaphor for the first few days post treatment. After a few days, regular skin care products can be introduced as tolerated.

Typically there is a small amount of oozing of the skin at first, but will resolve within 1-2 days post treatment. Periodically through the day the skin will need to be cleansed and kept clean, following with a thin layer of Aquaphor. A sensation of heat, redness and some irritation is expected post treatment.

The skin will heal from within, so a scabbing and itching is common. Picking and peeling of any scabbing is not recommended as it may cause scars and hyper/hypopigmentation.

The treated are will feel smoother, look more even and appear luminous post ProFractional treatment.

As with MicroLaser peels, the ProFractional treatment may take 1 treatment or a series of treatments. Our staff will work together to develop a customized plan for you.
